Can I earn through silent and faceless vlogs on YouTube?

I basically started YouTube out of boredom.

It was our uni’s semestral break when I was thinking what to do with my time. With an old camera and a potato phone, I decided to take videos just around my apartment.

As a shy introvert, I don’t want to show my face nor speak to the camera. When I do that, I cringe at myself. I don’t like hearing my voice, too. HAHA

I created my YouTube account last January 2023 and uploaded my first ever video last February 4, 2023.

It was a faceless and silent vlog. I am fond of vlogs like these especially the foreign ones like Nami, Choki, Toka, and many more. How I wish I can live the way they do. Unfortunately, I was born in the Philippines, and my salary makes me unable to subscribe to the Philippine Pro Plus plan. hahaha.

There are a lot of things I didn’t know back then, that’s why my first few videos are very low quality. Well, I can’t say my videos now are great, but I know I’ve improved a lot. My common problems are my apartment doesn’t have much light, my phone camera is really low quality. I also have this old camera that was gifted to me a few years back, but it doesn’t do better. I didn’t even know how to edit, how to do color grading and stuff.

Buuut, I tried it, just I was bored. You can do a lot when you’re bored. 😉
There’s not much of an option but to make do of what I have.

I just decided to film what I have and what I can. With very less effort at that. Lol.

Then come my third video that gained attention. It was about a little makeover that I did in my apartment. The funny thing is, it was not actually the makeover that gained attention, but my ugly chopping board. LMAO.

Don’t roast me with my old chopping board please. I already bought a new one. 😀
Fast forward, I recently got my channel monetized. I reached 1k subscribers and 4k watch hours in a span of 4.5 months. I checked my email and I have gotten monetized last June 16 in the late afternoon.

As of this moment, I have earned USD 6.88, or PHP 382.33.

That ain’t much, right, compared to others. But I’m actually so excited! Who knows where my channel will go from now. I’m just grateful that I’ve reached this far, just doing a hobby, creating memories, and earning a little here and there.

My old videos also earn a little from time to time when they gets views. It’s kinda like I have a real estate digitally, orrr is there a “digital real estate”?

And that is so cool!
